A ShutterBug Explores ~ Thankful Thursday

Winter on Cape Ann MA ~

Being warm and cozy in the house, I am thankful for this
time to enjoy the tranquility after the storm. Nature
provides such divine times and sometimes can be
overlooked when busy being in 'the world.'
Days like this where it is too windy, icy and cold, provide
time, if you don't have to go out, to enjoy being warm
inside working on creative tasks or
 sitting reading or more.
There is no angst about 'getting outside'
and taking our daily walk or
 doing errands or other requirements
one gives oneself to do.

So rather than grumble about winter I have been reading a
May Sarton journal entitled SOLITUDE.
In her journals she reminds one of the pleasures
of being alone with your house,
pets, yards and settling in to be grateful.

I, of course, am grateful every day for:

~ my family and friends ~ 💖

~ for my blog land friends and their support ~ 💕

  1. Carol what a lovely post. I am an only child...I learned early how to enjoy my own company.
We had a wee snow storm yesterday. Most snow in our area of NC in 5 years. Don't laugh 2.5"
Anyway it was 24 last night and not above freezing today and single digit feels like tonight so
I too am thankful I can entertain myself.
    Hugs to you and Ziggy

  2. I don't get to stay home often enough, as far as I am concerned, and would love a day at home. Maybe soon.
