A Shutterbug explores the surrounding areas of Cape Ann MA each week with her camera and her assistant, most times. We do look for 'the magic'and sometimes it appears when we are seemingly not looking. What a gift! What treasures nature offers!

Your posted comments are a treasure to us. thanks, ^_^
I've never heard of sea smoke before, but that picture is awesome!
ReplyDeleteThe sea smoke is beautiful; the frost patterns are too, but if I had those for very many days in a row my patience trait would be lacking too!
ReplyDeleteArt Muse always makes me smile -- she actually looks very patient in this picture (since she isn't having to go to the groomers, probably).
Thank you for the beautiful pictures .... and Hang in there -- spring will come!!
Lovely sky and water shots.
ReplyDeleteYou do warm my heart
ReplyDeleteBeautiful - I love the sea smoke, and of course your little dog. I hope you've made it through your bitter cold!
ReplyDeleteWOW! You really did a fine job with your selections this week. The sea smoke really got Buddy and me. I never saw anything like it on the Atlanti in Florida. It must have something to do with the temp of the water because we had the Gulf Stream just a mile off shore. We get “ice flowers” on our storm doors all the time. It is the norm for us.

ReplyDeleteWell for goodness sake, I was just thinking about that proverb this very day - it was a favourite of my granny's! Totally get your haiku... winter's still got a bite; and who couldn't feel warmer for the little furry one's presence?! (Mind you, 'Buddhog' brought a smile too!) Blessings, YAM-aunty xx
Love the sea smoke-well, I love the sea any which way it appears:):) The haiku-that'd be me ... and yes, that little Miss of yours warms my heart so. Wishing you a warmer week ahead!
ReplyDeleteThat sea smoke shot is remarkable and I always love pics of your puppy dog.
ReplyDeleteVery fine series of images.
ReplyDeleteI love that sea smoke!
ReplyDeleteDespite the cold and frosty scenes I am suitably warmed by your message Carol. Best wishes for warming days for you.
ReplyDeleteI do like the frost picture - we get frost on our cars maybe 4 times a year!
ReplyDeleteCheers - Stewart M - Melbourne
Beautiful photos, especially the sea smoke and magical frosted glass. I like the idea of Spring "dancing hither" ....hopefully she is now in the dressing room preparing for performance!
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful week,
Ruby
Your post is always so grand!! I really like your haiku! It speaks to me where I am! Have a wonderful week!
ReplyDeleteHello, I love your gull sketch. Well done! The sea smoke scene is cool. I love your cute pup! Wonderful collection of photos. Happy Tuesday, enjoy your day!
ReplyDeleteHi! I like your Haiku very much. I hope spring will come soon. Your dog's photo is very cute. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteSea smoke... I have never read that description. I rarely see the sea but I see our river often. I have seen what I now know to be 'river smoke'. It is a description that seems ethereal, as it looks.
ReplyDeleteEspecially loved the sea smoke and the frost.
ReplyDeleteHappy Tuesday! :)
Beautiful shots!!

It's always a pleasure to peruse through your photographic tours. Stay warm and blessings!
ReplyDeleteMy goodness, that looks too cold for me. I have to admit I am enjoying the warm spring-like weather with temperatures in the low 70'sF.
ReplyDeleteWe get sea smoke on the lake near our cabin quite often. It comes out the back bay across from us and makes its way towards the Narrows. - Margy
ReplyDeleteI had never heard of, much less seen, "sea smoke." Guess it's the price I pay for having lived my life inland!
ReplyDeleteCarol, another great series to share with us and those you connect with! Your first photo is just mesmerizing!...:)JP
ReplyDeleteThe sea smoke looks to be a spectacular sight to see, Carol! Artmuse looks so nice with a fur cut ;) We have been unusually warm--may hit 70 this week--crazy weather everywhere!
ReplyDeletePretty ice picture for abc wednesday, and the others are quite lovely too.
ReplyDeleteI love the ice designs on the window - that's something we don't get here :-)
ReplyDeleteIt was cold here for a while, but it's moderated.

Hi Carol ~~ Really a neat post this week!! Of course Art always warms our hearts, she is such a nice dog, clever looking too. If you'd have entered her in the Westminister Dog Show, she may have exited "top dog". Is she trained to do most of those maneuvers required?
ReplyDeleteYour 'Sea Smoke' over the harbor picture is really neat. I've not known about (of course then I hadn't seen it either) that quirk of Ms. Nature. It reminds me of the first time I, as a Nebraska 16-year-old farm boy, saw a mountain range coming into Colorado. I thought it was a thunderstorm far in the distance.
Lastly, I hope the perky looking gull on your porch doesn't poop very much there. We had a lot of doves were we just moved from and they would poop on our upstairs deck railing, very bad.
..
The frozen ice on the storm window is so pretty but brrrr....
ReplyDeleteThe first photo is my favorite!
ReplyDeleteHope you are having a wonderful week!
Lea
Seems like the sea is boiling in the first shot

Never fear, you will find the patience you need. There is no other choice. :) Lovely photos and haiku, as always. And yes, she warmed my heart just gazing at her sweet furry face.
