'If art is to nourish the roots of our culture, society must set the artist free to follow his vision wherever it takes him.'

A new scene for Cape Ann MA ~ a pink sky at end of day. I was bursting with delight. Yesterday we even had some sun and temperatures in the 30's. Doesn't take much to please us these days. |
A slightly different version of photo above only in Black and White ~ Doesn't this look so inviting? Up north in the ski resorts, yes. Not here. |
'Oh! So this where Spring is? (Due to snowstorms practically every week making it hard to get out and about ~ I have had to be creative and use what I have or take photos from the deck.) |
'Again, little snowflakes, make big snow banks; I am too little. |
Been an extraordinary Winter in New England on Cape Ann MA |
We are wishing you the best in each day. xo
Your posted comments are bringing sunshine into our day. thanks
Beautiful shots. I hope at least hints of spring will come to you soon. I know you've had a harsh winter.
ReplyDeleteKnow you will be so happy to have spring come! Your assistant looks intrigued with the snow...
ReplyDeleteSome days are not a walk in the park! But I love your water views. Often my world is what I can see through the windows.
ReplyDeleteSpring will surely come - and won't it glorious!
ReplyDeleteThat first photo especially is really beautiful. Sky colors like that are enough to lift any spirits! Your little dog is so cute!
ReplyDeleteYou have such a nice little corner of the world!
ReplyDeletePoor little Art Muse Dog looks puzzled by that very large bank of snow! I'm sure he is dreaming of daffodils and spring, too, just like us.
ReplyDeleteHari OM
ReplyDeleteNot much longer surely??!! It's wild and woolly here too I fear... YAM xx
Beautiful winter shots.
ReplyDeleteI bet Artmuse Dog is ready to for this winter to end and get out for walks again. My dogs start to go stir-crazy after too many cold days.
ReplyDeletewhat lovely photos. Isn't it funny how after such harsh weather for so long we tend to think of the thirties as balmy:):). Too bad it only lasted one day, but Spring is less then one month away now!
ReplyDeleteYour little puppy is ready for Spring I think.
ReplyDeleteAh - what a lovely view over the harbour!
ReplyDeletebeautiful scenery and your dog is so cute!
ReplyDeleteHello Carol, I hope you and Art Muse Doggie enjoy spring soon.. I am eagerly waiting for spring too. I love the first scenic shot with the pretty sky! Have a happy day and week ahead!
ReplyDeleteWhen you are as small as Artmuse Dog, you have to be really fascinated by that cold wet stuff piled up so high!
ReplyDeleteThis unrelenting winter in some parts of the globe makes it hard to get if you have short legs and small furry feet.
ReplyDeleteHello greetings and good wishes.
ReplyDeleteLovely photos with interesting commentary.
The quote by JFK is very thought provoking. In western countries perhaps artists can do what ever they want and get away with. For instance, Dan Brown who wrote Da Vinci Code. But at the same time we all know what happened to the cartoonists of Charlie Hebdo. So artists must use their unlimited freedom very carefully in certain matters particularly religion.
Unlimited freedom carries with it huge responsibility.
Best wishes
Your snow must be tremendously deep for that little guy...it has been just too cold, Carol to even enjoy Winter the way I did as a child!...:)JP

Your first shot of the pink in the sky is lovely. Poor little artmuse dog. Coming from B & W Wed.

ReplyDeleteYour little dog is so sweet and short like my Boston Terrier...those snow banks can be a challenge. My husband uses our snowblower and makes paths throughout our yard, we call it the Boston Marathon Track!
ReplyDeleteSilly snow! I wonder if it will ever go away! Your area of the country has been hammered worse than we have in Colorado but it is still driving me mad! I have no desire to drive in it these days and so my hubby drove to the bus. I hope you are safe and warm. You share the best photos and I hope you are enjoying the weather from the warmth of your home.
ReplyDeleteAll that snow on your deck --oh, wow!! It kind of looks like a giant mountain of foam. :)
ReplyDeleteLike how you added stars to the one photo of the dog!
ReplyDeleteAlthough the scenery is pretty I can tell there's a little bit of cabin fever encroaching into your winter wonderland, hope you find your crocus flowers soon.
ReplyDeleteI hope you get some sun soon! your doggy is too cute! x
ReplyDeleteLove the pastel pink of the muted winter sky.
ReplyDeleteBut oh....that is way too much snow for such a cute [but tiny] puppy!!!
Here's hoping for an early spring!
ReplyDeleteLove the pink sky - had enough snow!?
ReplyDeleteLovely sky. I hope Art Muse Dog finds spring soon. :)
ReplyDeleteLooks like a view down on the River Walk here in Newburgh...I had to shiver. It's so very cold here. We both seem to be hoping for Spring in our post...like so many!!! Off now for a hot cup of tea! Wishing you well!! Cathy
ReplyDeleteNice views in color, B&W, Carol.
ReplyDeleteHope Spring comes to you soon.
Have a Beautiful Day!
Peace :)
Poor little Art Muse Dog… my big dog is able to go out and play in the deep snow with me. My cat looks out the window longingly though. Beautiful photos… the birds keep reassuring me that spring is indeed on the way… also the bright buds. I collected some downed branches today and placed them in water… we'll see what happens. At least this way they have a chance to develop fully.
ReplyDeleteOh my. That is so much snow. I do hope spring is knocking upon your door.
ReplyDeleteI love that last picture!!!! he is such a handsome little one!
ReplyDeleteArt Muse dog has the cutest tail.
ReplyDeleteLooks like you've gotten your share of snow! Hope Spring begins to show up for you too! Lovely photos!
ReplyDeleteHa! I adore that picture of Art Muse Dog searching for Spring. Clever caption. The crocus blooms are here, and lots of others too.
ReplyDeleteSoon the crocuses will bloom where YOU are!
ReplyDeleteDear Carol... that photo of little Art Muse Dog looking for spring is precious beyond belief. Your little dog is probably thinking what is with all this white stuff? Yes, as your haiku says, may spring find you soon!!! XO
ReplyDeletethis week all the fruit trees flowered, the daffodils and iris, and just today forsythia burst open. tonight a late winter storm is arriving and lasting strong through tuesday. all those tender blossoms will be blanketed. our world will be clocked once more! hold tight, spring will arrive in all her glory soon! xo
ReplyDelete"Doesn't take much to please us these days."
ReplyDeleteYes, it is very true.
"Little snowflakes make big snow banks. " That is so true. Beautiful photographs as always. :)
ReplyDeleteBeautiful scene images and of course your dog is so cute. Have a lovely weekend.
ReplyDeleteYou all have had sooooo much snow in that area of the world,,,,I know you are looking forward to spring. Could I ask you a favor.....could I please paint the shot of your cute dog looking out the window like on this post?
ReplyDeleteYour dog next to the snow really illustrates how immense your snow fall has been!
