Falling Flowers ~ for Paint Party Friday and Creative Everyday
Welcome to A Creative Harbor's Friday and Saturday post. Per usual it is composed of art work, poetry and photography. Those three areas of creativity seem to keep my 'mojo' going. Didn't realize the pitcher of flowers looked like it was falling off the table until I took the photo. Could have fixed it but felt it was rather whimsical for a grey, snowy and rainy day. Also, I had completely forgotten about this local art class that I was interested in back in October 2012. When, just last week I got a call that there was an opening and would I like to join. Of course, I said yes and this is the result. I did another but will post it later. What is unique to this painting is the teacher introduced me to painting with a tree twig with India ink. I have always struggled with getting my darks in a painting so this technique seems to work for me. The ink was put in after the initial painting for emphasis and helped the painting to 'pop.' Love learning new 'tricks' . Who says old dogs can not learn new tricks? Hmmmm? Don't believe any of it. ^_^
