FISHERMEN'S WIVES MONUMENT GLOUCESTER MA CAPE ANN A CREATIVE HARBOR 52 PHOTOS PROJECT A big thank you to Bella Cirovic for hosting 52 Photos Project. It is a site for photographers to share their photos with a particular theme each week. This week's is B/W photos either original or altered from a color photo. The photo above is a original color photo that was modified to B/W. The photo was taken in Gloucester MA ~ Cape Ann ~ and its history is rather recent. Gloucester has had the Fisherman's Monument for many generations and it was only in the 20th century that the wives finally received their much needed recognition. Being a wife of a fisherman was not easy and they were very strong, independent women. Bravo, I say, to this group of women who are heroine's in their own right. And Thank you.
