'SHE SPIRIT' SERIES A CREATIVE HARBOR POETRY SATURDAY ARTISTS IN BLOG LAND Welcome to a Creative Harbor. Today is about Poetry Saturday and Artists in Blog Land. The above painting is the start of a series of paintings entitled 'She Spirit' and the second painting is what I have currently been working on ~ the fourth 'She Spirit'. Generally, I put a light wash of acrylic paint on the canvas for the background then I begin to sketch with a piece of pastel and then I begin to paint with oil pastels. I like oil pastels because I can pick up the pastels and begin to paint without any mixing; yet I am able to blend colors right on the canvas. ( I think it comes from 'hands on playing in the sand as a child) ~ I don't like all the fuss of mixing paints for the most part. There are some days I can deal with doing that ~ right now I want to Paint! (I also do lots of photography so stop and explore on my blog. Thanks.) So here is the beginning of the 4th painting in the series of 'She Spirit.' |
Fourth in the 'She Spirit' Series POETRY SATURDAY A CREED by Edwin Markham There is a destiny that makes us brothers; None goes his way alone: All that we send into the lives of others Comes back into our own. I care not what his temples or his creeds; One thing holds firm and fast ~ That into his fateful heap of days and deeds The soul of man is cast.
